This dataset contains the local climatological data (LCD) files for Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. These files are available for the period of record of January 1957 until present. The datafiles contain daily and monthly summary measurements in plain text format.
Each yearly zip file contains all available monthly LCD files for that year (YYYY.zip where YYYY is the year). The individual monthly files naming convention is MMYY.lcd, where MM = two digit month and YY = two digit year.
