Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station Radiosonde Data

Radiosonde data is available from Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. The following files are ASCII text with slight variations in their convention over the record:

  • aYYMM.1st (1977-1990)

  • MMYY.aud (1991-2004)

  • MMDDTTTT.dat/DAT (1993-2004)

  • MMDDTTTT.gps/dat, and a few MMYY.aud (2002-2004)

  • MMDDTTTT.dat.txt (2005-present)

There are also messages in TTAA, TTBB, PPBB, etc. format from 2005-present. MMDDYYTTmsg.txt
