Antarctic synoptic weather charts, 2009-2010.

This weather chart combines the Antarctic Satellite Composite infrared satellite imagery (made by the Antarctic Meteorological Research Center (AMRC) project, along with synoptic surface observations, ship and buoy observations and Automatic Weather Station (AWS) observations. The sea level pressure from the Global Forecast System (GFS) model is also contoured on top. The composite is 1024 lines by 1024 elements at 5 km nominal resolution at 60 degrees South. These were produced every 6 hours (0,6,12,18 UTC) from 2009 September 1 to 2010 March 31.
