Year of Polar Prediction in the South Hemisphere: Special Observing Period Radiosondes from External Contributors, Winter 2022

Data were gathered at the following research stations/research vessels: Adelaide, Casey Concordia, Davis, Dumont d’Urville, Escudero, Hobart, Invercargill, Jang Bogo, Kerguelen, King Sejong, Macquarie, Marambio, Mawson, McMurdo, Melbourne, Mount Pleasant, Neumayer, Perth, Punta Arenas, Rothera, Syowa, Vernadsky, and Zhongshan.

Each file is named {research station}_YYYYMMDDHH.dat, where:

- {research station}: research station from which the weather balloon was launched
- YYYY: year
- MM: month
- DD: day
- HH: hour

Each file contains 10 columns of space-delimited data of the observations:

- LTDS - Time
- VSIGX - Extended vertical sounding significance
- Pressure (Pa)
- Geopotential heigh (m)
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Temperature (K)
- Dewpoint (K)
- Wind direction (degrees)
- Wind speed (kts)

This dataset was compiled by NCAR from various sources for reference in an upcoming publication.
