Year of Polar Prediction in the South Hemisphere: Special Observing Period Radiosondes from External Contributors, 2022.

This record contains ASCII text radiosonde launch data files from collaborating Antarctic research stations/vessels as part of the Year of Polar Prediction-Southern Hemisphere Special Observing Period during the 2022 austral summer. This record is a supplement to https://doi.org/10.48567/ndr7-6740 which contains data that was collected in real-time.

Data were gathered at the following Antarctic research stations/research vessels: Concordia, Escudero, King Sejong, Rothera, Vernadsky, and Zhongshan.

A data catalog is attached containing dates (left-justified, on a line on their own) as the nearest 6-hour UTC time, format YYYYMMDDHH, followed by lines indicating the time of launch from specific stations, with format NAME-YYYYMMDDhhmmss. (Note that the names used may not reflect the formal title of the station.)

This dataset was compiled by NCAR from various sources for reference in an upcoming publication.
